Amid this winter of our uncommonly common discontent, I’ve been slowly building the back-end of this newsletter to feature freestanding pages that comedy fans may want direct access to without pawing through back dispatches of said newsletter.
So far, I’ve compiled the following for you:
- 2026 Stand-Up Comedy Specials (longer than 35 minutes)
- Comedy Festivals
- Live Comedy Shows! (focused on NYC, with other spots that offer livestreams globally)
- Madison Square Garden Comedy Headliners
All of these pages require regular maintaince to update, mind you, but hopefully they’ll be more and more useful as time goes on for you and comedy fans like you. I previously found it helpful to round up all of my show reviews each year from the Edinburgh Fringe (and Melbourne) so festival-goers can also get a sense of what’s out there.
What about late-night TV stand-up sets? Ah, yes. On the old site, where each post lived on its own, we could celebrate these performances individually, and through categories, even see all of them at a glance. The newsletter format presents a challenge. Could we, would we, should we start compiling these all in one place? Or separated by show? I’m not so sure, especially considering the increasingly dire straights the format of late-night broadcast TV faces already!
For now, at least, here’s a roundup of stand-ups doing stand-up on America’s late-night TV programs over the past three months since my last newsletter roundup on Nov. 20, 2025. You might argue there’s still quite a bit of stand-ups sharing their material with the late-night hosts from the couch (or via Comics Unleashed) (and then there are the competition showcases), but we’ll figure that out as we go. I mean, at this point, while Kimmel, Colbert and Meyers interview plenty of comedians, it’s really only Fallon showcasing stand-ups still.
